IDK how far you are in the game, OP, but you can make or buy much more practical clothing for the MC once you unlock Violet's boutique! I threw the MC in overalls and boots the second I could for the same reason, lol. It's a travesty Violet isn't romanceable.

I'm nearing being able to turn the seasons to winter, year 1, and have unlocked the boutique. I have Tara running around in the pink sherbet overalls atm.

It's a pain we have to sell what we make to unlock new stuff though.

I ended up marrying Giva since this secret. I learned that Amira and Kim are designed to end up together outside of Tara's relationships with them and I couldn't take them flirting in my line of view if I married Amira. I get pissed at Clint in Stardew Valley when I marry Emily and he's *still* a creep towards her.
