I blame streaming for this, all shows are now 12 eps max and full of only plot with no time to breathe or let the cast just hang out so I can't fall in love with anyone or really feel the cast dynamic, half the time they get cancelled on a cliffhanger so it's inherently unsatisfying and shows get dropped all in a bunch so fandom moves on within two days and there's nothing to sustain my interest. The only thing even vaguely hitting my hyperfixation itch nowadays is anime, and even those are getting cut down to 12 episode seasons and anything besides power fantasy isekai slop is left hanging for years without a season two. I want to obsess over something new, but everything is just stale reheated nachos.
