Oh, hey, I just finished watching Arcane for the first time.

I think Jayce is fine in that I'm just apathetic to his whole personality. But he's nowhere near my favorite character. I was more invested in Jinx and Silco. Season one was just really, really good. Season two... um, well, A for effort.

He spent the entirety of season 1 annoying the shit out of me and season 2 only managed to drag that up to me being able to tolerate him I guess, so I get you.

Thankfully a fanartist I follow who is into the ship still draws the ship I followed them in the first place for, but if they did a hard swerve into nothing but jayvik I'd un-follow in an instant. People can draw what they want but I'm not sticking about for fanwork I'm not interested in.

What are some of the most annoying nicknames you've seen people give others in fanfic?

Ones that sometimes make me backbutton are "Der" for Derek and "Tones" for Tony. NO ONE IS USING THOSE! STOP!

All the secrets about Top Chef, MasterChef, etc. make me think hmmm, I do watch some cooking show stuff, but have never gotten into those. Which ones do you recommend and where should I start, FS? I know that for something like MasterChef, there are many different series, and different countries, too.

I was a fairly decent cook before COVID hit and the whole lockdown followed by rising restaurant costs means I gained more cooking experience just to save money. I'm definitely healthier for that reason, and my bank account thanks me, too.

I suspect it's the inbuilt militarism that gives it a degree of immunity to the type of people that like to subvert these shows to their newest fetishes. There's little you can do without either accepting the military as somewhat good, or totally fucking the whole concept beyond what even the disinterested moneymen would accept.

At this point... I kinda wish the new show wasn't gonna be a thing.

I honestly don't get perspectives like this. If you don't like newer versions/sequels of things, cool. But their existence doesn't ruin the stuff you actually like. And there are people who like the newer stuff too. The old parts you like aren't ruined by the existence of the newer stuff. Just pretend it doesn't exist. And let people who like the newer stuff enjoy that too.

In general, nicknames that seem out of character. There are characters who just wouldn't do cutesy nicknames. In my particular fandom, one that particularly irritates me is when Sauron (original name Mairon) gets nicknamed Mai by freaking Melkor and Melkor gets nicknamed Mel by freaking Sauron. Just, what? Instant backbutton, I know it is going to be OOC.
