What were your favorite childhood shows?

I was a Nickelodeon kid (never watched Cartoon Network). Catdog, The Wild Thornberrys, Rugrats, and Angry Beavers were some of my favorites.

For cartoons Smurfs, SuperTed, The Wonderful Adventures of Nils, Tao Tao, and Dr Snuggles. Different anime series were shown on sundays and those were usually my favorite things on TV.

For live shows Knight Rider and Battlestar Galactica (+Mcgyver when I was a bit older).

But we didn't have cable growing up, just 4 or 5 channels on the TV and kids shows were only on at certain times, plus we just didn't watch much.

I do remember loving Today's Special on PBS. Oh and later they did have cartoons on after school, I remember Tale Spin and Rescue Rangers.

But as an adult I got cable and loved the early 2000s cartoon network. Gundam Wing, Samurai Jack, PPG, and then later Adventure Time, are still all favorites.

Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Lab were big in our house. Animaniacs and Pinky and the Brain. Star Trek shows (first Next Gen, then Voyager). Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Are You Afraid of the Dark. Magic School Bus. Superman: The Animated Series. Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Men in Black animated show. All That. Clarissa Explains it All. And, sadly, 7th Heaven.

I caught some Judging Amy on tv once and got hooked, so watched that a lot.

Then there were a lot of random Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon shows I'd watch randomly but wasn't super invested in. Like Johnny Bravo and Legends of the Hidden Temple.

Magnum PI, Punky Brewster, Small Wonder, Family Ties, Silver Spoons, Different Strokes, You Can’t Do That On Television, The A Team, and Knight Rider for live action.

For cartoons, I preferred Looney Tunes over Hannah-Barbara. There were plenty that weren’t by either studio like Smurfs, Shirt Tales, and Snorkles that I liked. Oh and of course He-Man and Transformers and GI Joe. Because knowing is half the battle LOL

Sagwa the Siamese Cat! My parents weren't big fans of PBS but I adored every bit of Sagwa I managed to watch. I also really enjoyed Hamtaro.

What I recall watching a lot: Full House, The Simpsons, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Family Matters, Sister, Sister, Saved by the Bell, Clarissa Explains It All, The Secret World of Alex Mack, All That, SNL, MadTV, Step by Step, The Adventures of Pete & Pete, Rugrats, Doug, Aah! Real Monsters, Boy Meets World, Hey Arnold....the list can go on but it's just making me realize that I watched a lot of TV growing up lol

Yeah, early on, when my family didn't have cable it was a lot of PBS and network TV (Sesame Street, Ghost Writer, Reading Rainbow, TGIF shows on ABC, Fox sitcoms). When we had cable on and off as I got older, we didn't really have the Disney channel so my siblings and I watched a lot of Nickelodeon and MTV/VH1.
