(Anonymous) 2025-05-14 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)I've seen people do commissions for fandoms in Youtube fandoms and older/obscure stuff - its the Big Corporation based fandoms where you need to be the most careful.

(Anonymous) 2025-05-15 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)You absolutely CAN get quality art commissions for less than $300-- I've gotten beautiful pieces for $60. Hell, I've gotten beautiful pieces for less than that if I've only needed a headshot/artist was running a special/the exchange rate between countries worked in my favor/the artist knocked some off the price if you commissioned art of their OTP because they would enjoy working on it more. There are good artists working who need to be able to take commissions to make a living, and depending on size and complexity, sometimes skilled artists do work very affordably.
AI isn't just soulless in comparison when it comes to the finished product, it's theft.
