For context, the average 1br apartment is ~$4-500k (sometimes you can find somebody's former airbnb closet-with-a-bathroom for ~$350k now after the market ""correction"" due to rising interest rates and short-term rental crackdown), 2brs start around $6-750k, 3bd/2a townhouses (aka what you need if you'd like to breed) are $800k-1mil. Junky fixer-upper tiny sfhs are minimum $1-1.5mil, newish spacious homes are double that. My gf's parents' 5bd/2ba house that they bought for $90k in the early 80s is worth $2.7 mil.

And this is all outside the "city" proper, lol. lmao.
